McAfee is known by most home computer users as one of the more popular antivirus programs, along with Norton Antivirus and Malwarebytes. McAfee also works on business networks, and there are options available for mobile devices, including tablets and smartphones. The acquisition of Stonesoft will increase the products on offer for all users.

McAfee’s security suite will have access to the Stonesoft firewall technology, and will most likely integrate the firewall tech into existing Microsoft products. Customers should, therefore, have more protection from the evolving threats to computers, websites and other technological devices.

According to a press release by Intel, Stonesoft is the leading innovator in computer security properties, especially in firewalls. This innovation will help McAfee stabilize its position as the ‘biggest and best’ computer security company. McAfee is already controlled by Intel, which offers the best technologies and support.

McAfee Potentially Poised to Become the Biggest Computer Security Company

The acquisition of Stonesoft will see McAfee potentially becoming the biggest computer security companies around the world. Customers will not only have antivirus protection but the option for advanced firewall protection.
