Just a week after a cyber-attack on social media site, Facebook, Evernote has now confirmed that it has been victim of a hacker as well. All passwords have been reset as a security measure, and users need to create new passwords to protect their accounts.

The Evernote homepage adds extra warning by making it easy for users to change their password via the website. The owners do not think that other information, including personal and paying information, has been changed or taken.

In an interview with Decoded Science, Rosie Walkinton, a spokesperson from Evernote, confirmed that the attack was discovered on February 28, 2013. The investigation into the attack is still continuing, but Evernote believes that it was short and that the attack was discovered before too much data was taken or the contents of the accounts were compromised. Security caught the hack-attempt in the early stages of what they believe was a sophisticated attack.

What Is Evernote?

Evernote is a reminder service that you can use on computers, tablets and smartphones. Everything is stored on the cloud, which means you can synchronize devices easily – add a new sticky note on your smartphone to remember to do something when you get to work, and it will be waiting for you when you get to your computer.
