Old Sci-fi films and TV shows attempted to show ‘futuristic’ technology – but how accurate were they?

Star Trek, for example, was full of gadgets and advanced technology which is now available today in some form.

It is interesting to look back and see how technology has advanced and how many TV shows, such as Star-Trek and the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy have influenced the technology of today.

Smart phones have the ability to call people, access the Internet and download apps to make research much easier. In fact, they can do much more than the 1978 book ever predicted and imagined.
