These will state how your details will be stored, and whether they will be sent to third-parties. They will also detail any order cancellation procedures and the security on the website.
Shopping Cart: How Will You Pay?
It is not just about the website but about the way that you pay.
When you go into a store, you usually have the option of cash or card, where a card payment is generally more secure. When shopping online, there are some methods of payment that are more secure than others.
Pay by credit card where possible, as you will be protected by your credit card company if the website is a fraudulent one. Some websites offer PayPal as a payment option, which is an excellent option, especially when paying individuals. Paypal offers a paper-trail and provides dispute assistance to help if something goes wrong with your order.
Online Shopping: Always Log Out!
Never remain logged in on a website. This makes it easier for someone to steal your details and start using your account information for their own gain. Remember: Closing your browser will not always log you out of the sites, and does not adequately protect your privacy.
Cyber Holiday Shopping
Cyber Monday online shopping is a great way to counter the Black Friday lines, crowding, and hassle. You will have to wait a few days for delivery, but that may be worth it for a stress-free shopping trip. Just make sure that you protect yourself from scammers and hackers looking to steal your bank details and identity.
